My first job was as a scenic artist in an opera company painting backdrops. I did this for 11 years, until I relegated myself to working as a staff artist in an office. During my career as a staff artist I work on the side painting and drawing portraits, comics, cartoons, book covers and feature drawings for newspapers for private contractors.
