I'm an illustration major in the class of 2009 at Columbus College of Art and Design. If you want someone who will put all their knowledge and ability into making a project come to fruition I'm that person.
 
 I look at life and my art through the lense of history. By holding life at a distance history lets us see actions more clearly and lets us diverge from the prescriptions of how to live within our culture. Using a combination of collage line-work and painting I create rich and varied surfaces, which evoke different time periods. I focus on the psychology and personality of people or animals and create a space around them to tell their story with its own logic, but connected to reality. I endeavor to show the spark of life while giving it a context and through that context tell a story.

I can both interpret more literally, or symbolically with imagined spaces that mingle with reality. I can capture the mood intended, with my strong understanding of color. I received a merit scholarship to attend CCAD, and I believe that the scholarship, which showed an initial trust in future ability, and my later Schottenstien scholarship for excellent work, which was recommended by an instructor, shows commitment and continued ability.
