Service Description:
I have recently moved on from my job as Product Design Manager at J.Logan Design to pursue my dream of setting up my own shop: XTREME DESIGN!!  My shingle has been hung out and I am open for business!  I am currently seeking sporting goods, housewares, electronics, furniture, and dimensional packaging design projects.

I worked for the Chef'n Corporation for seven years as the Senior Industrial Designer, and then two years at J.Logan Design as Product Design Manager- both in Seattle, WA.  I am currently serving several clients as the Principal at XTREME DESIGN.

In my career as a product designer I have worked predominantly on housewares projects, but I am excited to add many new industries to my repertoire .  My experience includes product ideation, concept development, concept presentation, 3-D CAD file creation, proof of concept, ergonomics, Asian manufacturing sourcing, plastics design, metals design, prototyping, modelmaking, packaging design, intellectual property strategy, and marketing.  My role has been to be the guy that can blend out-of-the-box thinking with reality.

Previous to product design I worked for Scott USA at their Burlington, Wa. factory making snowboards.  I was the molding department Team Leader, and I also worked in R&D on CAD projects, testing, and some fixture development.  Here I learned about how to run a department efficiently and the details of many manufacturing processes- especially compression molded epoxy.

I have twenty-seven U.S. utility and design patents registered and eleven pending.

I work fast and loose on paper and on the computer for concept development, in SolidWorks for 3-D files, and in Adobe CS2 for high quality presentation materials.  I can subcontract SLA or FDM parts if necessary.

I am in the process of building my workshop so my prototyping capability is continually improving.  Currently I am able to work in modeling foam, tooling board, wood, sheet metal, cast urethanes, plaster, and fiberglass.  The processes I am capable of are sculpting, coating, RTV moldmaking (from hand models or SLA), cast urethane part prototyping, and vacuum forming.  I plan to be adding more woodworking and metalworking tools soon.

I am ready to go to work on your project!
