My Story:

My name is Lorraine.  I have a B.S. in Biology, which I had once thought would lead me into the medical field, but I could not get my mind off of writing.  My enthusiasm in life comes from creative writing.

I was editor of the school newspaper in both junior high and high school.  During that time, I would write articles that were relevant to the student population and I would create little advertisements for our sponsors.  It was a total blast and when I think back on my undergraduate biology days, I wish I would have followed my creative heart.  

Throughout my time in college, and in the pharmaceutical industry in which I worked, I performed catalogs of technical writing.  

Presently, I am pursuing a Masters Degree in Counseling, which I hope will eventually amount to my future career as an elementary school counselor or as an art therapist.  

Recently, I was laid off from a small biotechnology company (along with everyone else).  The whole company was placed on hold due to financial constraints and mismanagement.  The company was very top heavy and everyone and 'his-or-her grandma' had a boss. The business was like an upside down pyramid, whereas smart businesses are going to flat models.  

This is where freelancers (like me) come in.
