My name is Jennie Durocher and I'm a graduate of Florida School of the Arts. I received an associate’s degree majoring in Illustration and would be excited to the have the opportunity to work with you.

I'm a very detail-oriented person who works with both the computer and traditional forms of art. I like to think of my eyes as a window, constantly opening and closing with each object I see as an opportunity, an opportunity to use my hands to show what I see differently.

I'm an avid fan of comics and cartoons, as I also have a love of illustrating them. I also watch Japanese cartoons which influences my creative style sometimes and my knowledge in another culture. In addition to my love of looking at pictures I love to read and write stories and share them with my colleagues and friends. In my younger years I also had the chance to travel to different parts of the United States, including Hawaii, which also enhanced the way I perceive my surroundings and understanding of colors and shapes. I am told by others I have an acute sense of detail and a fun-loving personality.

When discussing my skills in traditional art I work with Oils, Acrylics, Watercolor, Gouache, Chalk Pastels, Colored Pencils, Drawing Pencils, Charcoal, and Ink. I am versatile when it comes to the types of paper used as I have experience with several different types and weights. I have done several pieces of artwork in these different Medias and shared them with many individuals and companies. I have done a few freelance artwork pieces using several of these Medias as well. I have taken classes in figure drawing, illustration, painting, watercolor, color theory, and art history.

My skills in digital illustration and art are also well-rounded as I have knowledge in Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe InDesign CS2, Macromedia Flash, and QuarkXPress. In using these programs I also have gained knowledge of how to print correctly, print on different types of paper for different effects, and how to test colors. At the college I graduated from we also had the opportunity to work with both the Windows Interface and the Macintosh Interface. The experience from working hands-on at the college has been in advertising, layout designs, poster designs, product designs, digital illustration designing, logo designs, and web advertising graphics.
