Service Description:
I'm an Animation Director that can manipulate the style and look to fit the job. I'm a natural character designer that has a great sense of timing, movement and humor. Most of my samples are in 2-D but I've done a lot of different looks in 2-D, a few 3-D, some claymation as well as other multimedia effects that make you think it's not "Flash" or any particular tool. 2-D is a great way to stretch any budget but anything is possible with the right time and money. 2-D or 3-D animation -- it all starts with traditional steps of a good script, storyboard then an animatic for timing before we start production. I can help in all those areas and I work with great voice and audio people to develop the perfect sound design.
History: I started out as a syndicated cartoonist with Tribune Media Service where I did a daily comic strip for 5 years. This is where I developed a fast drawing ability and gag writing skills. The comic strip was syndicated in 40+ papers including the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Denver's Rocky Mountain News. In my late 20's I quit syndicated cartooning to work with a traditional animation studio and get involved with more dynamic story telling and animation. The animation studio was sold and absorbed by another agency but I continued to get regular freelance from record labels, MAD magazine and more recently, pop-culture spoofs that play on many of Clear Channel's radio station websites.
