The tom spayde studio is an independent consultancy providing retail, hospitality, and residential markets with top-shelf creative design and high quality hand-drawn color or black-and-white renderings for architects and designers.

Design

I've been creating retail, hospitality, and residential design concepts for more than twenty-five years, working across the spectrum of specialty stores, “big box” retailers, food stores, trade shows, to service retail such as banking, and automotive & boating dealerships. I've worked in Europe and Asia as well as the United States.

My greatest strengths lie in creating strong yet practical design solutions which have enabled me to build a track record of projects that contain unique ideas both impactful and implementable.

In the residential design field, I've brought my commercial design expertise and experience to bear in executing exterior and interior new-builds and remodels from concept to completion.

Architectural Illustration

After over twenty-five years of making many hundreds of drawings, I've refined a technique that's spatially accurate yet creates excitement and interest.

Beginning with information you supply, such as photographs, plans, or sketches, I create a rough black and white line drawing for your review of the viewpoint and content. Next, a final line drawing is prepared and submitted for your approval, after which color is applied to finish the drawing. The finished work can then be physically delivered or a digital image sent via e-mail or CD.

Over and over, my illustrations have been used by architects, designers, developers, and retail clients to sell concepts to investors, corporate boards, or design committees, and help visualize all kinds of spaces and products.

My skill level provides images amazingly similar to the finished project, whether it's a retail store design, architectural project, trade show design, interior design, or merchandise fixture.
