Title: 'Bluejeans'
Description:
We have a daughter getting married November 7th in Washington, DC.  At the rehearsal dinner the plan is to do a 'roast/toast' to the couple.
I will give you some background as to the couple and what we are thinking.  We thought something rather funny and memorable in a poem form would be nice.  This would be read by the step-father whom the bride looks at as being a Dad (as she says, 'I have two Dad's').  Both Dad's will be walking the 'bride to be' up the aisle.
Aric and Jennifer have purchased a home together ... Aric being a first time home owner.  With this home comes a yard to be taken care of.  They were given a lawn mower for a housewarming gift from Aric's parents.  In talking with my daughter she tells me that Aric does not own a pair of blue jeans, or for that matter a pair of work shoes to do yard work.
We thought it would be fun to go to Goodwill and purchase a pair of worn blue jeans, put a pair of gloves in the back pocket with a tool or two.  We would wrap this gift and after Aric was done opening this, Dad #2 could read the poem explaining the need for the blue jeans and that of purchasing a pair that already had some 'work' in them to show him the way.
Both Aric and Jennifer are Attorney's ... so a little fun with this would be all right as well.
Looking for some 'creative, fun-loving words'.
