Kaleidoscope Strategic, a boutique Oncology medical information firm, is looking for a HIGHLY DETAIL ORIENTED, science trained, and personable research associate to compliment an experienced medical research and writing team.

The company researches, writes and submits peer-reviewed manuscripts for publication to Tier-1 oncology journals. Our work has been featured in The Lancet Oncology, the Journal of Medical Oncology, Cancer, and others. Our projects are scientifically demanding, intellectually challenging, complex, and deadline driven.

General Description
• A virtual research/writing team with regular, specific direction and coaching from managing editor
• All work is project and deadline driven requiring flexibility
• Independent contractor status
• The person with the right mix of skills and attitude could have multiple, ongoing projects up-to full time hours
• Hourly rate ranges between CAD $18-22/hr commensurate with experience and qualifications

General Role & Services Required
* Support team by ensuring data accuracy across all types of work product - literature searches, data extractions and summaries, written articles and reviews, plus other communications
• Accurately extract and summarize data from clinical research papers, and conference proceedings in cancer field using established internal protocols
• Proofread medical manuscripts, scientific tables and graphs
• Fact checks - ensure data in graphs, tables and text are accurate

Candidate Qualifications
• Experience in the subject area of Oncology Clinical Research
• Familiar with latest database search techniques using medical subject headings, inclusion and exclusion criteria, etc.
• Familiarity with the following databases: 1) PubMed 2) Cochrane 3) Conference Proceedings
• Be available for 9 am team meetings in Eastern Standard Time Zone

Skills Required
• Exacting work - meticulous attention to detail required, ACCURACY is paramount
• Excellent interpersonal skills - able to work well with others, be responsive, communicate proactively
• Time management
• Proven competency in Adobe Acrobat Standard/Pro (NOT simply Acrobat Reader), MS Office (especially Word/Excel) and Thomson EndNote
• Excellent verbal and written English
