Background
• Being aware of the challenges and risks associated with the management of any practice is the first essential step in avoiding unnecessary complications or potential disasters. Aside from learning from risks and challenges first hand, the most effective means of obtaining such information is through making studies of those practices comparable to those in your own discipline (Psychology).

Method & Format
• To this end, you are to approach (email, phone, face-to-face) a small Psychology practice, with three questions to gain information on the practice's primary concerns over the past 12 months.
Note that all questions must respect the privacy of your chosen practice, and personal details are not to be documented in the report.

As a supplement to the three questions, the report must associate each question/answer with a relevant piece of literature that centres on similar issues or themes. Through the integration of the questions/answers with the chosen literature, the report needs to present an articulate and well thought-out ‘report’ on each question.

The report is to include all relevant information on your chosen firm (i.e. business, size – ie, local, national, international, establishment date and basic ethos).

The report should clearly:
• demonstrate an understanding of some of the risks and challenges involved with the management of a professional practice;
• demonstrate a wider understanding professional practice management through the selection of appropriate and relevant literature;
• provide an articulate and well thought-out analysis of the questions/answers and associated literature; and
• include correct referencing and a correctly formatted bibliography.
