I have been an artist in the graphics profession for over twenty years. I've seen trends and technology come and go. I've adapted myself to make changes as needed. I believe I can use my skills and experience I gained in the printing industry to uniquely contribute to your team.
One of my specialties is what I call a "Shoebox Job". Clients have literally brought in a shoebox full of photos, notes, discs, etc. and I made a brochure or catalog out of it. A lot of my experience has had me spill over to being a liaison for customer service, also training employees. One of my best suits is innovation. When deadlines loom I've been the 'go to' guy to make the job work. My professional experience along with my light-hearted approach has allowed me to finish a job while reducing stress for all! Another talent that I have a particular fondness for is my portrait illustrations. I have drawn hundreds of portraits (over 1000). These are NOT the carnival caricatures you see on the roadside. They are first class professionally done portraits. I work from your photos and have had clients from all over the US and Canada. I have drawn a person with his or her favorite activity. I have drawn family portraits that are derived from several photos so they don't all have to be together. Many times I have included family members who have passed on. Some of the subject matter has included businesses, homes, pets, hobbies, autos, boats, favorite landmarks, etc.
I am currently taking classes at IVY Tech for Computer Aided Drafting. I am available for different shifts and different days.
For graphics, I use Quark, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. for design and layout of all types of printed and one off items. I am GATF Certified. I also make pencil, colored pencil and pen & ink illustrations, commercial sign design, layout and painting. I have strong sales and management background acquired from past employments. This includes automotive sales and restaurant management as well as others.
