Illustration has been my passion since I was a child in my crib, decorating wallpaper much to my mother's contempt.  For over ten years, I have been honing my artistic skills, working with various media, from pencil and pen and ink to pastel and watercolor.  I work both from life, and from my own vivid imagination.  

I can provide both realistic and stylized representations of people, places, animals, and everyday objects, both real and imaginary.  I specialize in portraits, and have the ability to capture faces and figures both still and in motion.  I love capturing characters, places, and moods of books, from children's books to novels; I have written my own fantasy novel and illustrated it, and I thrive off working with authors in embodying their imaginations.  Furthermore, I have experience in scientific illustration at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology at the University of California, Berkeley, and am well able to capture the tiniest details, from feather patterns to leaf structures, that make plants and animals unique and fascinating.  Recently I have been experimenting with life sketching; I can quickly sketch scenes events such as music sessions, meetings, dances, and weddings, an interesting and exciting alternative to photography.
