Service Description:
I have over 11 years experience in various areas of illustration including  children's books and portraits.  My style is child--like and whimsical, while my portraits evoke a sense of realism. I specialize in watercolors, acrylics, oils and charcoals and would love the opportunity to work for you.  If you have a need for an affordable illustrator that is willing to meet any deadline desired then I am the girl for the job.

"I Love capturing the beauty in situations where people would least expect it", states Jamele.

I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and alumnus of The Fashion Institute of Technology.  My previous credits in publications include illustrations in Evan F. Nappen's, The Declaration and numerous works in magazines such as Child Life and The Village Voice.  I have also interned in the children's book department of Farrar, Strauss & Giroux in New York City.

I create illustrations that help me to reveal what I feel about the world around me:  revealing its colors, shapes, textures, lines, and forms that bring out their beauty. My background in book illustration supports my goal to make a connection between myself and the observer.  My goal is to have my work inspire the observer whether they realize it or not.  I take great pride in bringing a sense of positivity to the viewer as a result of viewing my art.  I often find my subject matter from the people around me, new places that I have traveled and stories of motivation.

My dream is to illustrate a book that deals with the trials and triumph that children battling cancer face every so they know that they are not alone.

If this sounds like something that you would be interested in, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I would love to work with you.
