I am a former trial attorney and a highly-skilled writer, with extensive experience writing and editing, along with a vast expanse of life experience, informing my approach to every project that I undertake.  I offer writing and editing services on any subject, in any format you desire, from entire websites down to short articles, and everything in-between.  I have spent more than 25 years writing creatively and persuasively as an attorney, writing as a journalist, writing as an editor, writing academically, and writing in a multitude of other situations.  Writing is what I do.  

My education includes a B.A., summa cum laude, in Liberal Studies, (Kentucky State University, Whitney M. Young College of Leadership Studies, 1991) with a minor in Studio Art; and a Juris Doctor, cum laude (University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law, 1995).

My work experience has varied widely, including my work as a trial lawyer, as a trial commissioner (a sort of assistant judge), as a writer and researcher for a non-profit, environmental advocacy organization, and as a freelance researcher and writer.  After graduating from college, I taught college freshman Composition courses before I decided to go on to law school.  I have done everything from waiting tables to arguing before the state Supreme Court.  

My life experience has been diverse as well.  I grew up in a government housing project in rural Kentucky, attending both college and law school on academic scholarships.  Once upon a time, after law school, I married a french man, and I lived in Paris for extended periods of time, traveling back and forth between France and Louisville.  I returned to rural Kentucky to help provide needed legal services to mostly poor people.  I have practiced privately both in a firm and solo, as a government employee, and as a guardian ad litem for children, and I have received awards for donated legal services.  Although I wrote voluminously as an attorney, I have always enjoyed freelance writing assignments, welcoming the change in pace and subject.

I use Microsoft Word for written work, and I am proficient with all manner of internet usage, research, and other resources.  I will write on any subject matter, perform quality research, and guarantee fast production of high-quality, detailed writing, produced in appropriate form.  I can easily adopt whatever tone is best suited to accomplish project goals, from informal & friendly to the most heavily footnoted academic research.
