For over forty years I have enjoyed a productive career in the field of commercial art as a designer, art director, illustrator, and in the fine arts field as a watercolorist and instructor. I bring this experience and background to every assignment.
That experience is a matter of record;
2005 to present, freelance illustration;
1997 to 2005, senior creative director for a world wide publishing firm.
1987 to 1997, designer/illustrator for the same firm.
1982 to 1987, freelance designer/illustrator.
1978 to 1982, designer/illustrator for George N. Sepety studio.
1969 to 1978, art director for the following advertising agencies.
Zimmer, Keller, & Calvert; W. B. Doner; and J. Walter Thompson.

My formative years were spent in a small fishing village on the western shore of Lake Michigan. That experience deeply ingrained in me a love of the sea, ships, lighthouses, quaint fishing villages, and their environs. These come to life in my watercolors.
In subsequent years I was profoundly influenced by the great magazine illustrators of the 40’s and 50’s, and so a lifelong course in the field of commercial art was fixed. Experience gained in the agencies and studios over the years has enabled me to manage every assignment from inception to printed piece. You will find my illustrations arresting, and well designed to showcase your product or tell your story.
