Service Description:
Language excites me, and I have an unbridled passion for it.

I am currently the Managing Editor and Senior Writer for a medical/trade magazine that reaches a select professional audience nationwide.

In this role, I have interviewed such well-known figures as Linda Ellerbee and Mark McEwen, both former broadcast journalists; popular author Lee Woodruff, whose first book, "In An Instant," which she wrote with her husband, Bob, became a NY Times bestseller; comedian and former television star David Lander; Kasey Edwards, a young man from Florida who made national headlines when he lost his left arm to an alligator attack; and numerous other individuals in my search for a compelling story.

Versatility and the meticulous pursuit of a well-constructed article stand as my chief allies. My portfolio serves as plain evidence that I can create full-bodied stories on a wide range of topics. I have penned travel articles, leisure articles and restaurant articles, as well as stories devoted to online dating, stress and the economy, and autism. I also have created a host of articles on various aspects relating to health care.

And in these stories is a wide template: they comprise cover stories, feature-length investigations, brief news capsules, and department-length stories. In the end, I am well-versed in conducting interviews, applying rigorous research, and shaping articles from a first draft to a final, polished state.

My work has elicited glowing reviews. "What a perfectly lovely piece. You do have a way with the language," wrote Linda Ellerbee about the story that appeared on the cover of Case In Point in December. My "Reviews" section shares additional feedback.

As managing editor of the above-named publication, I also have a great store of experience with editing, proofreading and refining content. I pride myself on striving to achieve a perfect balance within an article on each and every opportunity. I am well-versed in AP style.

My professional experience in publishing and communications spans more than three years. My previous line of work was in the communications department at Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, where I wrote and edited news releases and various in-house marketing material, among other duties.
