With 18 years of experience in database design and programming, I have developed a comprehensive set of skills that enable me to create stable, flexible, user-friendly database applications with MS Access, MS SQL Server and Crystal Reports.

My MS Access experience covers everything from complex, multi-user distributed (front end – back end) applications, to quick, disposable, ad hoc utilities. I am proficient in Access SQL and VBA, so I am able to code complex business logic and create very intuitive, easily-navigated user interfaces. I also have extensive knowledge of Access ADP (Access front end, SQL Server back end) applications.

For my SQL Server clients, I can leverage the power of SQL Server by creating robust data processing resources. With advanced knowledge of the Transact SQL programming language, I’m able to create very user-friendly representations of complex data. With SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) I am able to automate a wide range of database operations, such as integrations and migrations.

I know how to make SQL Server Reporting Services and Crystal Reports shine as report writing tools, by off-loading the data processing tasks to the underlying DBMS (database management system). The result is a fast, light weight and easily maintained by the reporting tool.

As a data modeler, I know how to design flexible data structures that can handle changing and expanding business requirements. I use ERwin data modeling software to design, analyze, prototype and document database resources.

Follow up support for my client is something I take very seriously. The manner in which I design and document a project enables me to quickly provide technical support and revisions, even after years of separation from the project.
