Description: Dear Structural Engineer:

We invite you to Bid on our requirement. This design should be for a Concrete Structure. The requirement is as stated below. Please find the plan attached for you to be able to work upon. This exercise may require more than one iteration.

1. The Area of the land is 70 feet depth and 40 feet width and 40 feet is faxes the road
2. The desired plan is as attached. This is in pdf format. An Excel format available upon request.
3. We are constructing a multi story house on the is piece of land.
4. This will be a Concrete structure with concrete Structure and brick walls with cement plaster.
5. The Intent is two build a two story house immediately and later raise it by another two stories as funds become available. The additional stories will be added after a few years at least 5 years after the first phase is complete.

My Requirement from a Structural Engineer is:
A. The plan as attached should not change dramatically due to structural reasons.
B. May suggest changes to Plan for Structural reasons, if structural requirements so dictate
C. The need is to provide for parking and access to Elevator and Stairs at ground level only. No other use of the space is anticipated.
D. The Column positions must be so placed for easy movement of Cars to get in and out in the parking area.
E. Important - The Columns and Beams should not be Visible inside the house. Nine (9) inch external walls  and four (4) inch internal walls are planned for the structure. The column width/beam width should match the wall width of 9 inches.
F. Provide Placement of Columns for the desired plan
G. Provide Placement of Beams for the desired plans
H. Provide Column Dimensions for the desired plan
I. Provide Beam Dimensions for the desired plan
J. Provide the above (items H and I) for two storey and four storey structure
K. Provide Steel Rod dimensions as needed for (items H and I)
L. Provide estimates on Steel requirements for two and four storey house
M. Provide Cement requirements for two storey and four storey house
N. Provide a simplistic Thumb rule means of making such estimates oneself
O. Recommend any software that can provide a thumb rule estimates, instead of detailed Structural requirements
P. Items "N" and "O" are for educational purpose only, as the Owner is an Mechanical Engineer, and desires  verify every element of Structural information required for a Civil Structure.
