Description: We are a growing company specializing in laser cutting, forming and welding.  Recent expansion has created the need to create an application to manage our production workflow from order placement through to shipment.

The scope of this enterprise-level project would include:
- Programming a multi-user front end with database back end
- Integration with Quick Books accounting software
- Implementing user-level security
- Integrating bar code scanning devices
- Integrating label printing devices

We're interested in quotes and proposals from software development companies that can provide on-site consultation.  Development work may be performed remotely, but frequent on-site demonstrations and discussions will be required in order to ensure the application is in accordance with our needs.

Some prototype software exists showing some of the functionality that will be required, and an experienced software developer is available as a liaison with the software development company.

Description: I am currently trying to determine the feasibility and budget of creating an ebook software and website for Architects and Contractors. I have been experimenting with Mobipocket and believe the features would be very similar to what I am looking for. It is my understanding that Mobipocket is based upon open source programming, so I believe that my objectives may be able to be achieved without starting from scratch and without a large budget.

Ultimately, I am looking to create an ebook reader that Architectural and construction publications would offer for download to read their emagazines and construction related books. I would also like to make other materials available such as regulations and codes etc.

Important features:

Must be able to be downloaded to PC and Mobile devices.
Must provide similar functions as Mobipocket such as easy navigation, links, flowing text, ability to add notes, highlights etc.
Must be able to "talk" to the database for automatic updates of software and also automatic updates of certain ebooks (codes etc.)
Must be able to control who has access to which books etc. and be able to cut off service to users who cancel etc. (ie: I don't want a user to be able to sign-up and download all of the documents...then cancel and continue to use the software and view documents etc.)
website will be simple (HTML CSS etc.).....I would also entertain an option of a consultant doing the software and database work and letting me do the simple website stuff (design, content, pictures etc.)

Please see the developers section of Mobipocket's website to fully understand the software if you are unfamiliar with it before providing quotations etc. It would also be helpful to also download the free software.

Payment of subscriptions for emagazines etc. will be thru paypal and integration will be part of the required services.
