Description: I have been collecting and herding words my whole life! Beginning at a very early age my round up and placement of thought-provoking vocabulary garnered the attention and recognition of others. The choice of words placed into phrases, then into sentences, then into context is a passion that has filled much of my life. It is a high calling to express oneself with the written word. From my earliest years to now, writing has always been an integral component in my life. These expressions, verbal and written, have tagged me as “The Word Herder.”

It has been my good fortune to participate in several professional careers over the course of my life. I have applied my talents to school teaching, and writing; small business ownership, and writing; sales and marketing, and writing; university graduate level research, and writing. As is evident, writing has been my companion throughout! No matter the particular topic, I always have the occasion and desire to “write about it.” I am the word nerd who actually takes notes at symposiums and events! And not just on the presented topics. I find people, settings, interactions and conversations fascinating. The entire visual, auditory, kinesthetic experience is worth noticing and noting.

The world we live in is a large and wondrous place. I have traveled the globe soaking in the scenery, culture and customs near and far. I have even lived in the bush of Alaska. Translated, this means a native village in the wilderness. One of my personal character traits that allows me to provide the appropriate tone and style to any written piece is an open-minded willingness to learn. This ability has been fostered by my travels.

One of my specialties is Internet marketing through SEO strategies. Other equally important qualities that I bring to the table are timely and effective communications, dedication to and respect for client deadlines, flexibility during the process, and adherence to stringent research criteria.

I am now, and will remain, a writer!

Description: I have been writing and creating all things Deb Honey since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I love to invent, I love to build and most of all, I love to write!

Writing is creation and create I must! I have yet to meet with a topic that I did not find interesting in some way. From technical manuals to articles and web content to short stories, I find it all fascinating. There is so much to be said and so many glorious words to choose from.

I have 18 years of writing experience under my belt. I have traveled the countryside, seen a multitude of places and experienced a plethora of adventures. I've even lived in the Bush of Alaska - I could really tell you some stories about that!

Having been a surfer of the Internet before the GUI net as we know it came to pass, I am very proficient in research and web navigation. But, I do not hesitate to consult the local library as well for there is a whole slue of information to be discovered in the old microfiche. If you need something written, I will find the information you are looking for. Take a look if you like at some of the samples of my most recent articles and blogs for the web. Here is what I will do for you: article writing, blog writing, web content writing, newsletter writing, report writing, speech writing, white paper writing, press release writing, technical writing, creative writing, short story writing, editing and proofreading.

By trade, I am a software specialist and I do some web design and graphical design as well. I offer this service here and I am willing to take on small projects in that arena. If you need content integrated into a web page with tags and such, I can do that for you.

I am a small business owner and an antiques auctioneer. I have an outstanding ability to know my audience whether public speaking or with the written word. Customer service is my forte and I enjoy meeting new people from around the world. I will communicate effectively with you via email, phone, chat or message in a bottle.

I am enthusiastic about any creative prospect that is put before me. My friends call me "The Magician" because I make things happen! I would welcome the challenge to take any topic that you may provide and make it interesting.

Description: Language excites me, and I have an unbridled passion for it.

I am currently the Managing Editor and Senior Writer for a medical/trade magazine that reaches a select professional audience nationwide.

In this role, I have interviewed such well-known figures as Linda Ellerbee and Mark McEwen, both former broadcast journalists; popular author Lee Woodruff, whose first book, "In An Instant," which she wrote with her husband, Bob, became a NY Times bestseller; comedian and former television star David Lander; Kasey Edwards, a young man from Florida who made national headlines when he lost his left arm to an alligator attack; and numerous other individuals in my search for a compelling story.

Versatility and the meticulous pursuit of a well-constructed article stand as my chief allies. My portfolio serves as plain evidence that I can create full-bodied stories on a wide range of topics. I have penned travel articles, leisure articles and restaurant articles, as well as stories devoted to online dating, stress and the economy, and autism. I also have created a host of articles on various aspects relating to health care.

And in these stories is a wide template: they comprise cover stories, feature-length investigations, brief news capsules, and department-length stories. In the end, I am well-versed in conducting interviews, applying rigorous research, and shaping articles from a first draft to a final, polished state.

My work has elicited glowing reviews. "What a perfectly lovely piece. You do have a way with the language," wrote Linda Ellerbee about the story that appeared on the cover of Case In Point in December. My "Reviews" section shares additional feedback.

As managing editor of the above-named publication, I also have a great store of experience with editing, proofreading and refining content. I pride myself on striving to achieve a perfect balance within an article on each and every opportunity. I am well-versed in AP style.

My professional experience in publishing and communications spans more than three years. My previous line of work was in the communications department at Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, where I wrote and edited news releases and various in-house marketing material, among other duties.

Professional Freelance Writer
Category: Writing / Editing / Translation
Description: I am a professional freelance writer, born and educated to university standard in the United Kingdom.

I hold a degree in both business studies and philosophy; I have travelled the globe extensively, and am able to bring both expertise and an open mind to every writing project I undertake.

My work is always well researched, and never plagiarised and of the highest quality.

I am capable of undertaking a very wide range of writing tasks, from simple search engine optimised text, to creative writing projects. Below I have outlined some of the types of work I have been commissioned to produce in the past.

My previous work history includes projects for such high profile clients as Charles Saatchi and the Saatchi Gallery, Diverse Solutions and Online Tech Tips.

ARTICLE WRITING

My articles are designed to be informative and concise, whilst encouraging thought and consideration from the reader. I make sure that the article has a proper construction, depending upon the required article length, which will usually consist of an introduction, a body section and a summary or conclusion.

PRESS RELEASE WRITING

A press release must always cover news worthy information. A badly written press release will be refused for syndication by the better news sites, and needs to adhere to a strict set of guidelines. I write every press release to conform to guidelines set out by the major news sites such as PRWeb.

ESSAY WRITING

This is some of the most challenging work I am asked to undertake. Often the subject matter is of something I am unfamiliar with, and I have to become an overnight expert in the field, in order to produce an essay that will be awarded high marks.

TECHNICAL WRITING

I spent 24 years in the IT industry, working in technical support and management. This experience has provided me with a firm background in technical writing.

BLOG WRITING

I try to write blog posts in a provocative manner, to encourage comment from the user base; this aids in community building and makes the blog seem more alive.

WEBSITE CONTENT WRITING

I write website content designed to grab the attention of the reader within a very short space of time. Informative and useful content, which will add value to any website.

SEO WRITING

Writing content around a predefined set of keywords or phrases, scattered throughout the text in a density of 3% to 5%, targeted at pulling in organic search engine traffic. If you require a different density for your chosen key phrases, I can accommodate you entirely.

REVIEW WRITING

Writing an authentic reading product review can be a challenge. By incorporating slight negative comments within the review, which are immediately negated by a following high point, the reader is more likely to perceive the review as authentic. All product reviews I write conform to client requirements on spin, as well as incorporating “call to action” style content, to entice the reader into purchasing the product.
