Description: It is my passion to fuse into your work myriads of animation, suspense and laughter. Based on your story and desires, my talent and acuity, we can control the reader’s emotions to the left of anger or to the right of laughter.  We can turn their comfort into agony or give them a reason to honor life!

My talent has given me the opportunity to write a remarkable financial book for a group of multi-millionaires.  I have been chosen to write a book for a motivational speaker who is associated with a popular nationally televised reality show.  In the past, I have written various newspaper articles, which have caused much attention and sprinklings of controversy.

I have spoken and taught at financial enlightenment presentations and seminars, where my informative, direct and passionate delivery has changed lives financially.

Description: INTRODUCTION:
Some people might think that getting a Master's Degree in Creative Writing is tantamount to buying a first-class ticket on the Titanic...but I don't agree.  I believe that all areas of writing have varying levels of creativity, whether it is writing an article, developing a press release, creating a brochure, producing a manual, or posting a blog.  It takes a talented creative writer to make all areas of the printed word interesting and effective to prospective audiences...and I'm just that kind of writer!  So, give me the opportunity to create for you something magnificent from the mundane.  Like the captain of the Titanic, I'll make your document, publication, or website look like the king of the world, or go down with the ship trying!

Be sure to visit my website for more writing and design samples!

Description: FREELANCE
My primary areas of expertise are business, finance and real estate. I have handled viral marketing, social networking, and marketing copywriting duties for RiseSmart.com, a $100k+ job placement site. I have written SEO web content and blogs for Banks.com, Move.com, and Nielsen Business Media's MediaJobMarket.com. I have written press releases for Terminix, Merry Maids, and CondeNastStore.com. Several national trade magazines have featured my articles, and I have edited copy for magazines and book authors. I can also ghostwrite or write media kits, business documents, and sales copy, and am skilled with Adobe InDesign, Quark Xpress, MS Office, and Photoshop. Client reviews are available on this site, and references are available upon request.

ADVERTISING
A year-long stint in direct advertising sales increased familiarity with the psychology of the sale, ROI, the WIIFM factor, etc. Ongoing training courses throughout that year covered the principles of writing effective advertising copy and strong ad design.

NEWSPAPERS
I am a former newspaper reporter of five years who focused primarily on daily crime and courts coverage. I covered everything from President Bush to Barnum and Bailey's while working in newspapers, and some clips are viewable on this site. I worked two years as managing editor of my college newspaper, overseeing a staff of about 20 writers and editors and guiding the newspaper to win several awards for design and content. I simultaneously worked for a community weekly, where I handled prep sports, news, photography and copy editing. At the Bowling Green Daily News, I earned a Kentucky Press Association award for extensive reporting on a capital murder trial. In Bowling Green, I covered federal- and state-level trials, interviewed a wide range of sources, and also handled a few investigative pieces. The newspaper helped hone research, fact-checking, interviewing and deadline skills.

SUMMARY
Altogether, I have eight years of experience writing for a living, whether in newspapers, freelance, or both simultaneously.  I have a firm understanding of objective and persuasive writing, copy editing, proofreading, interviewing, researching, and fact-checking.  I am a very diverse freelancer who enjoys a challenge and would love to help you with your next project.

Description: It's said the proof is in the pudding - likewise, the writing itself tells the story. In the end, good writing is what you as a customer are paying for - words. If you read my work, I'm confident that in my writing samples you will see all of the elements of top professional writing - flawless language, strict adherence to theme, rigorous intellect, appealing humor and always, a well conveyed message. I recognize the difference between objective writing and editorial, or persuasive writing, and am well versed in both.

In the end, a writer and a client engage in a temporary marriage - the client's ideas and the writer's words. The two have to be compatible for it to work, so I always advise a client to choose a writer whose style best conforms to the results they are trying to achieve.

I have written for newspapers, (Beacon Hill Times, Boston Phoenix) magazines, (Improper Bostonian, Stuff, Living Buddhism) newsletters, (Boston Research Center) have published fiction, non-fiction, poetry and children's stories. (Samples in portfolio) I currently have an agent representing my detective novel, Love in Vain Blues, which is being considered by ten major publishing houses.

I also am an excellent lyricist and have both collaborated with professional musicians and written songs on my own. I can create fresh and unique lyrics for a songwriter's particular wishes, and have several examples of various styles in my portfolio.

I bring a diverse background to the table, applicable to websites, magazines, businesses and other venues in need of an excellent writer or content provider who can work in a large number of fields of knowledge. I work quickly, can fashion clear, accurate, engaging copy tailored your needs. I've worked at all levels in writing, from basic information to scholarly research. I work well with creative people and can write sparkling copy, in synch with the overall tone, flavor and audience required of the project.

I've published in the following areas - journalism, informational writing in magazines (product review, food/restaurant review etc), scholarly writing (Boston Book Review, book reviews similar in level and content to NY Times Review of Books), business promotion (web), children's stories, fiction, poetry (various magazines).
