Dr. Dajer wrote a long personal account documenting his experience as interim chief of the emergency room of NYDH on the morning of 9-11. It brought me to tears. I condensed and edited his memoir and created this "Lessons Learned" piece for HealthLeaders, a leading health care publication. It was challenging to condense, because it really should be expanded into a book! This is one of my favorite pieces, ever.
