Design

I've been creating retail, hospitality, and residential design concepts for more than twenty-five years, working across the spectrum of specialty stores, “big box” retailers, food stores, trade shows, to service retail such as banking, and automotive & boating dealerships. I've worked in Europe and Asia as well as the United States.

My greatest strengths lie in creating strong yet practical design solutions which have enabled me to build a track record of projects that contain unique ideas both impactful and implementable.

In the residential design field, I've brought my commercial design expertise and experience to bear in executing exterior and interior new-builds and remodels from concept to completion.

Architectural Illustration

After over twenty-five years of making many hundreds of drawings, I've refined a technique that's spatially accurate yet creates excitement and interest.

Beginning with information you supply, such as photographs, plans, or sketches, I create a rough black and white line drawing for your review of the viewpoint and content. Next, a final line drawing is prepared and submitted for your approval, after which color is applied to finish the drawing. The finished work can then be physically delivered or a digital image sent via e-mail or CD.

Over and over, my illustrations have been used by architects, designers, developers, and retail clients to sell concepts to investors, corporate boards, or design committees, and help visualize all kinds of spaces and products.

My skill level provides images amazingly similar to the finished project, whether it's a retail store design, architectural project, trade show design, interior design, or merchandise fixture.

Connecting the look and feel of the exterior canopy to the storefront, simple color and graphic treatments bring new excitement to entering customers, while cluttered existing merchandise was reorganized to maximize views into the store
The existing structure was devoid of any real architectural character, interesting elements, or even color. The design sketch shows how an entry element would be added to complement the front facade, and a walkway with two sets of steps to define a path to the detached garage. The finished project brings color and architectural definition to the main facade of the structure, adding visual interest and balance to the architectural forms.
This two-story farmhouse with an existing one-story addition was small on space and suffered from an awkward corner entry. The finished project shows how new architectural elements were integrated, creating dynamic rooflines and adding visual interest, including the upper level balconies, and moving the front entry highlighted by a large roof canopy with a defined porch and landing. A three-car garage was also added, allowing the existing garage to be transformed into a family room.
New heart pine floors, creamy bisque colored walls, and new windows to create a “wraparound” view to the pond outside transformed a hum-drum living space into a cozy, warm conversation spot. Comfortable, chocolate colored plush leather seating is complemented by a custom patterned fabric ottoman, and a two-sided fireplace with whitewashed brick to provide visual contrast. “Broken” tile top side tables and accent lighting complete the picture.

Originally from Chile (Architect Degree), I moved to the UK in 2007 and have over three years experience working within the Building Sector on both sides of the Atlantic.  

My recent work in the UK, allowed me to further develop and strengthen my technical skills. I have first hand experience producing Planning and Working Drawings packages and excellent skills with in Photomontages, Visualizations, 3D Modelling and the Adobe package.

The many skills that I gained throughout my university experience included graphic design (both visual and material presentations to exhibition standards), industrial and product design as well as booklet production in indesign.

Parellel to my career I create sculptures, design brochures and leaflets and believe that the majority of the skills I have would be easirly transfered to the job required.
