Founded in 1980, Image Work Communications is Micro Agency and Media Production Studio in Woodland Hills, CA. We specialize in creating presentations that educate, engage and inspire for global companies/brands, live events, video & film production, museums, and installations.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• A writer who can take complex business and technical information, organize it, simplify it and make it more conversational to best interpret the story. (Humor helps)

• Write, edit, and coordinate the production of a broad scope of documents, including creative concept documents, bid/proposals video and interactive scripts.

• Someone who is flexible, reliable and professional: ability to never miss a deadline.

• A writer who has experience writing and developing video scripts and is familiar with concept, structure, content, style and story telling formats.

• Willing to work on a contract/retainer or per project basis

QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong understanding of storytelling principles and techniques

• Experience writing for a variety of mediums (video script and web experience a plus)

• Excellent research, writing, proofreading, editing and oral presentation skills

• Ability to communicate processes, plans and concepts effectively

• Ability to create entertaining, persuasive and conversational
messages

• Ability to work well with a creative team

• Possesses critical thinking, planning and time management skills

• A degree in Journalism or English preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications

Description: W are looking for a scriptwriter to write the following;

The drama, which reveals itself through the intertwining of current situations, flashbacks and a stark inner world of loneliness, are a painful and consistent reminder of a terrifying journey for Amy. Amy is a woman of mixed heritage now in her mid 40’s. She is initially introduced in the present as a woman in an ideal marriage, with two lovely children.  However, one incident creates a sequence of events that manifest in terror, disturbing ruminating thought processes about her young children and her own mortality.  

She embarks on a journey to try and unravel what is happening to her whilst feeling like she is losing her mind, causing her to use alcohol as her crutch to cope. In her desperation to understand herself, she encounters dangerous extreme religious beliefs, counselors and psychiatrists who are unable to help her. She reads books written by professionals that cannot answer her questions and in the end, she suffers a total meltdown.  During all of this she experiences extremely high levels of stress, panic attacks and anxiety. Without realizing it, her emotions have been embedded in her psyche due to her fraught childhood and guilt that has been buried for so many years due to terminations she had firstly at sixteen and then at twenty-six.

The scriptwriter needs to be able to weave the central issues into an engaging storyline that will draw in casual readers/viewers and strike a chord of resemblance with thousands of people across the UK and beyond.

Please note that this is not limited to a female storyline. Balance and experiences from of all types are required to bring this to life and to go beyond the medium to affect the reader.  The purpose of this drama is to help those who are too afraid to tell anyone what thought processes are causing them high levels of anxiety.

This invite will give a platform to a scriptwriter who can really adapt themselves to the central characters challenging issues and in the end, an opportunity for talented unknown actors to take this gripping drama to the next level.
