We are looking for someone to design the packaging for a new beverage

Product

The new beer containing lots of natural ingredients for good health such as: water, maize, sorghum, malt, alcohol etc…
The beer is quite heavy and very smooth to drink.

Our target group is consumers who are health conscious.
We would therefore like to base our communication on health related advantages, as well as tradition, affordability and presentation.

Product Details

• The product has no fixed alcohol percentage volume. This increases as the product ages due to fermentation.
• The life span is short - best consumed within 72hrs.
• It is sweet when it’s fresh and becomes more bitter as it ages.

Target market?

• Traditional beer drinkers with a taste for natural beer
• 25 -35 years old
• Preferences to buy traditional (non-imported) beers
• The health conscious.

Visual Objectives

• Hygienic and presentable format for opaque beer consumption, style and culture.
• Satisfy natural traditional beer drinkers in “grand style”.
• Create a platform to promote locally produced agricultural resources.
• Design with a strong impact to prompt beer drinkers to try the product.

Creative task

Develop a packaging design concept for 4 different variations of the product as listed below:

• A : 1 litter carton pack (milk carton)
• B : 1 litter Screw cap (transparent bottle)

The packaging should communicate the following

• Good tradition
• Nutritious
• Healthy
• Easy to drink
• Value for money

Description:

I have designed a product and am now ready to select a manufacturer and have prototypes made. To prevent all bidding parties from having to sign an NDA immediately, let's call this product a lighter. The actual product is very similar and will be disclosed to the winning bidder after signing an NDA.

Packaging:
The packaging consists of a box approximately 4.5" long by 1.5" square. The box will be made using a 2mm art board with a satin black finish. The box will have a top and a bottom that slide together with the bottom being the smaller of the two. This will look very similar to the iPhone box. Within the box, the product will be seated in die-cut black foam to match the contour of the product.

Artwork:
I am looking for a very clean and contemporary look (again, like the iphone box). I would like a combination of embossing (maybe flames?) with spot UV and/or foil. What I have in mind right now is the name of the product to be approximately 0.3" tall and right justified on the top of the box. This could be done in a foil or spot UV or just regular ink. On the left of the top of the box I would just have a neat, clean, multi-layer flame that has some portion of it embossed. On the sides of the box, I would like it to look like the box is transparent and you can see the product in the box. The outline of the product will be embossed too. This would be on all 4 sides of the box. On the bottom of the box I would just like some basic information like company name, copyright and trademark info, address, website, etc. Of course, I am also open to any and all suggestions.

I do not know how this type of packaging artwork is usually supplied to a box manufacturer. I expect that the best way is to show an unfolded box with the artwork placed accordingly.

Here are some things that will help me determine the winner in order of priority:
- quality of work
- previous work / portfolio (specifically packaging but also graphic works)
- price
- creativity
- thoroughness of proposal written in response to this RFP (concise though)
- communication (if you are not able to quickly answer / ask questions, the design process will take forever)
- delivery time (please be realistic, too short will be a red flag too)
- knowledge of printing and packaging manufacturing techniques

- Ideas for improvement
- When you can start and finish
- What you need from me
- What you have done that is similar
- Do you use email, phone, IM, or snail mail (hope not) to ask questions and get feedback
- How you handle payment (method and when)

My company, Divinity Boutique, is a Christian gift company well known for great value oriented gift items with scripture or biblical reference. We make everything and are willing to make any product that makes sense for the industry.

We have an ongoing need for new products developed by freelance designers. We work with them on a royalty basis and we not only sell in the USA, but we also sell to importers and retailers from around the world through a Trading Company that I own. It is a separate company and sells to a variety of wholesalers and retailers from around the world.

These are some of the things we need, but that does not mean we are not open to other items, and new and unique gift lines. We can work in wood, resin, glass, and other materials.

We will work with you to discuss, plan and create the concepts...we dont want work done without feedback and input from some of our buyers.
