The company researches, writes and submits peer-reviewed manuscripts for publication to Tier-1 oncology journals. Our work has been featured in The Lancet Oncology, the Journal of Medical Oncology, Cancer, and others. Our projects are scientifically demanding, intellectually challenging, complex, and deadline driven.

General Description
• A virtual research/writing team with regular, specific direction and coaching from managing editor
• All work is project and deadline driven requiring flexibility
• Independent contractor status
• The person with the right mix of skills and attitude could have multiple, ongoing projects up-to full time hours
• Hourly rate ranges between CAD $18-22/hr commensurate with experience and qualifications

General Role & Services Required
* Support team by ensuring data accuracy across all types of work product - literature searches, data extractions and summaries, written articles and reviews, plus other communications
• Accurately extract and summarize data from clinical research papers, and conference proceedings in cancer field using established internal protocols
• Proofread medical manuscripts, scientific tables and graphs
• Fact checks - ensure data in graphs, tables and text are accurate

Candidate Qualifications
• Experience in the subject area of Oncology Clinical Research
• Familiar with latest database search techniques using medical subject headings, inclusion and exclusion criteria, etc.
• Familiarity with the following databases: 1) PubMed 2) Cochrane 3) Conference Proceedings
• Be available for 9 am team meetings in Eastern Standard Time Zone

Skills Required
• Exacting work - meticulous attention to detail required, ACCURACY is paramount
• Excellent interpersonal skills - able to work well with others, be responsive, communicate proactively
• Time management
• Proven competency in Adobe Acrobat Standard/Pro (NOT simply Acrobat Reader), MS Office (especially Word/Excel) and Thomson EndNote
• Excellent verbal and written English

Description: We would like for you to put together a written monograph focusing on ethics and jurisprudence for the practicing physical therapist. This monograph could be a single section or multiple sections. It would have learning objectives ( about 8) and multiple choice questions(about 20) linked to the learning objectives. The total length would be about 35-40 pages in dual column format. The stipend for this work is $1,500 to $2,500 based on the turn around time of four weeks or two weeks. The writer will also have to retain and an academic PT Professor who would review the monograph and sign off on validity of matter.  The academic stipend  for that work is $250-500. Both you and the professor need to provide a copy of your resume/CV and will be acknowledge as contributors to the target audience.

A single spaced typed page, depending on the font size, will typically yield a little more than 1 page in the format we use for our programs.  I would like to have at least half of the program devoted to the (i)APTA Code of Ethics; (ii)APTA Guide for Professional Conduct; (iii)APTA Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapy Assistant; (iv)APTA Guide for Conduct of the Physical Therapy Assistant;(v) Model for Ethical Decision Making and (vi)Case Examples and Analysis. Just reprint permission (i) through (iv) will take up about six pages ( we could put in some side bars relative to interpretation and probably get another two pages. The (v-vi) can cover a few pages and the rest can be covered by relevant material. This is just a suggestion as it may help you reduce the project time for you. That’s open to negotiation with you.
