Looking for an engineer who has experience in getting designs manufactured.
The project:
An irregular 3D shape skeleton, covered with fabric.
The 3D shape "grows" over time, using a synced mechanism (either quartz/battery powered or mechanical). Excess Fabric will be tucked in to allow for the expansion.
The expansion should go 4 x 1 of original size maintaining all proportions of original shape.
Original size is 2x2x1
Max size 8x8x1
The speed of expansion should be regulated by the manufacturer or end user.
Keep in mind, most of the product will be covered with fabric. Regulation should not be visually intrusive
Proposed Speeds:
1% every 87.6 Hours
1% every 43.8 Hours
1% every 7.3 Hours
1% every 1.68 hours
1% every 1.2 hours
1% every 0.48 hours
1% every 0.24 hours
Attached is a sample diagram, not actual shape. Actual shape will be 3D (the diagram is a 2D example). Actual shape will not be "harder" to maintain actual proportions (simpler shape).
Will be shown to awarded engineer.
Final design must include prototype, materials planned and enough design plans to submit to manufacturer for design.
All rights to the design will belong to the company.
The object must be stationary and have some level base that it will rest on. It should not "move" from the base (keeping a point on the base).
Base should be large enough to sustain the maximum size of the object.
This will be mass produced, so keep costs in mind of selection of materials and amount of parts needed.
Design must be simple, concise and elegant.
