Seeking Events Intern/Consultant - Event Planning Freelance Job

We are a small conference management firm looking to expand. We are looking for someone who can contact organizations which host meetings, seminars, retreats and events such as non-profits, corporations, churches, etc. Primary responsibilities include researching contact information for various organizations (name, mailing address, phone, web address, etc.); researching event dates and locations; calling prospective clients; creating Excel spreadsheets with contact information; and other marketing-related assignments. The information can be collected via web searches or by contacting the organization via phone. Data should be delivered in an Excel spreadsheet and will be verified. Compensation is negotiable, but will be based on pre-determined deliverables (e.g., 100 organizations with specified contact information) The project will be ongoing. We are also offering a generous referral fee if your lead converts to a client.

The ideal person should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, have some meetings experience, and have the ability to effectively sell/market our services (Registration, Housing Management and Conference Support). We will mail out the marketing materials once the contact information is collected, but our hope is to build a relationship with someone who can take over additional responsibilities.

We are preparing to launch an ongoing book tour to promote 7 new books. We are looking for that special person who can handle the details involved in setting up each event, deal with the local/national media to promote each stop on the tour and handle basic admin skills involved in this business.

If the professional chosen works out, we will invite them to handle our ongoing, national, monthly book tours. To maximize our success and the financial success of the professional chosen, we offer a percentage of all sales made at each event, much like we would pay an agent who handled booking events.
