Looking for a researcher to gather and supply information on:
(1) The actions of the Montana legislature which predated and set environmental policy for Montana prior to the State's filing suit against ARCO for natural resources damages in 1983 (Montana v ARCO, No. CV-83-317-HLN-PGH).
(2) Legislative bills and actions which authorized and maintained the State natural resources damages program.
(3) Retrieve and/or describe exhibits and other material related to Montana v ARCO in US District Court, Helena.
This project is part of the preparation of a publication on the Montana v ARCO natural resources damage case. The researcher need not be a legal researcher per se but can find and summarize documents and actions related to the case in both the State legislature, the court, State government agencies and other areas.
Particularly looking for information related to who and how the natural resources damage program was executed and managed beyond what is readily accessible via Web and published sources.
Budget is estimated. I think someone familiar with or access to Montana legislative documents and records, and ability to find publications in Univ. of Montana and State government libraries and resources could perform this project. |
