Looking for Nikola Tesla Experts - Electrical Engineering Freelance Job
Category:
Engineering / Architecture
Subcategory:
Electrical Engineering
Description:
Hello,
I would like to engage an electrical engineer in creating Nikola Tesla items for me. As such, the electrical engineer must be familiar with the works of Tesla, especially in the works of currents of high frequency and high voltages.
The following are the pieces that I am keen in creating:
1. Tesla Egg Of Columbus:
This piece demonstrates the totating magnetic filed and shows how a solid copper egg rotates on its own axis. This 'Egg of Columbus' is also exhibited in the Tesla Museum in Belgrade. I have included a picture of this on the file attached. The diameter of this apparatus can be 30cm long
2. A Solenoid.
To create a solenoid that is widely used in physics labs with coil wires wound around the insulator. The purpose of this apparatus is to demonstrate the intense magnetic field within the solenoid.
Within the inner circular part of the design, I need an eclosure that can be filled with iron fillings and show the magnetic field lines. I plan to connect this solenoid to the induction coil and observe the magnetic fields created by the high voltage, so the wires should be able to withstand the voltages of the Induction Coil.
Also, I would like to have a second solenoid design, but the only difference is to have a difference coil wire design. I would like to have two wires intertwined together - like a helix shape - where the inner wire is thicker than the outer wire.
Then this setup can be wound around the solenoid structure. In terns of passing current within this design, I would like to have a polyphase system where I am passing current in one direction of the thick wire and a separate current in the opposite direction in the outer wire.
I would like to have the option of having currents passing through in the same direction or by the flick of a switch, pass currents in the opposite direction.
I would also like to have a viariable switch where I can vary the currents entering this system via the Indction Coil.
These solenoids can have an inner diameter of about 10cm.
This apparatus should be able to withstand the currents of high frequency and high voltages of the Induction Coil so that I can see the Iron Fillings in action when the current passes through the solenoid.
3. Classic Ruhmkorff-type Induction Coil
A Classic Ruhmkorff-type Induction Coil. Refer to attaced file for the image:
I desire a spark lenght of about 8 inches long and must create currents of high frequenct and voltages. The casing is to be as shown in the attached file, however, if it is possible to have a glass or see thru plastic casing so that I can see the surrounding coils in action. The votages I prefer to create are to be in the order of 200,000 volts and very high frequencies.
I need this apparatus so that I can work wih vacuum tubes
I would also like to have a viariable switch where I can vary the currents entering this system via the Indction Coil.
Further to this, I would like the ability to place a surrounding plastic casing filled with Iron Fillings so that I can see the surounding magnetic field of the induction coil in action.
4. The Tesla AC motor
The Tesla AC motor: Refer to attached file.
This AC motor is exhinited in the Tesla Museum in Belgrade and produces approximately 3000 revolutions per minute. If you can produce something like 30,000 plus revolutions, that would be prefered and I request that the casing be similar to this shown and that it can be disassembled for internal study of the parts.
This motor is also a polyphase current motor.
Please note that these apparatus must be built with the look of 1900's finishing touch, like an antique item. Because I wish to study the internal parts of the system, I request that these apparatus can be easily be disassembled and easily put back together.
I understand the dangers of high voltages so please advise of any safe environment that may be required for safe operation of these instruments.
We can create one item at a time and work at your pace.

Circuit Design - Interface Existing Temperature Sensor / Micro Circuit with 2-way Pager Module - Electrical Engineering Freelance Job
Category:
Engineering / Architecture
Subcategory:
Electrical Engineering
Description:
I have an existing circuit that is functional to do the following: read a temperature sensor and report the temperature to a computer via USB.
Here are the details of the circuit:
Dallas Semiconductor makes a 1-wire temperature sensor called a DS18B20 that I have connected to a PIC 12F629. The PIC reads the temperature sensor whenever the PC asks it to. The PC connects to the PIC via an FTDI 232RL USB to serial chip. The board is powered by the USB connection. I have the complete board design, gerbers, and source code for this design. I also have working production samples of it.
Here is the new circuit I need designed:
The new circuit needs to allow the PIC to communicate using a Reflex 2-way paging module or So here's how the circuit needs to work:
1. I send a pager message to the circuit you are creating indicating that I want it to send me back a message every x seconds with the current temperature reading.
2. The circuit you are creating sends a message back acknowledging receipt of the message sent in step 1.
3. Then, the circuit waits x seconds (as indicated in step 1). After x seconds, the circuit reads the temperature from the DS18B20 and sends it back to me.
4. The circuit repeats step 3 infintely or until it receives a new message indicating it should change from x seconds to y seconds.
The circuit needs to able to be powered by either wall power (via a DC transformer) or battery power. When the battery power runs low, the circuit needs to send me a message indicating the battery is low.
Due to physical receptions limitations, I cannot use GSM or cellular connections for this project. It must be with a Reflex 2-way pager module.
What I need delivered from you:
3 working prototypes of the circuit
schematic
BOM
gerber files
willingness to consider a longer term relationship with me for future product enhancements
Thank you for looking and please send me any questions you have.

Description:
All software and harware needed to perform the following operation:
1) User is asked by a computer to type in a number from 0-1000.
2) Computer takes number and sends it via wireless to a hanheld wireless device. This hanheld will then diplay the number on it's screen.
Wireless information between handheld and computer should be able to travel a distance of at least 10 meters and go through one wall or one window.
Solution should be manufacturer friendly.
I will provide more information for individuals or companies that have the capability for such a system.

pulse divider - Electrical Engineering Freelance Job
Category:
Engineering / Architecture
Subcategory:
Electrical Engineering
Description:
I am using a totaliser to count the number of pulses from a rotating shaft. The motor driving the shaft is fed through a nominal 5:1 gearbox. Because of manufacturing tolerances the actual ratio is 5.23 to 1. There is physically no room to connect the sensors at the output of the gearbox so they have to be attached to the motor. I therefor need a program to divide by 5.23 to give the correct number of turns at the output of the gearbox. I imagine a PIC micro might do the job. Any suggestions are welcome.
