Description: Bidders for this project will be working with a client who knows what she wants as an outcome but doesn't know much about web development technology/terminology.

I have a website, built for me by someone else using ASP.NET.

I want to add something new to it. I call it it a "Personal Index Generator", or PIG for short.

I am dealing with an database/ list of approximately 6K items. I have them in an Excel spreadsheet.

The purpose of the PIG is to allow my customers allow my
customers to select the items that interest them.

I want a programmer who can come up with creative ways to make it easy for the customer to enter their data - they've probably got several hundred items to enter, so I want to speed it up as much as possible or else they won't use it.

Options I can think of include: sorting the list according to three or four criteria and then browsing the list; or, since that could be a bit tedious, I'd also like them to be able to enter the part numbers seperated by commas in a text box, or even upload a comma-delimited text file.

Once I've got their list, I will print out labels that display the specifications as recorded in my database, and then mail those labels to them.

So, this project has two parts: one, the program for the customer input, and two, the program for printing the labels. (I want something that works better than the standard label printing option in Word).

The labels will be printed on a sheet fed laser printer.

Bidders need to be able to convince me that you know what you are doing on three fronts: web - database - printing.
