Description: I have a MySQL database that has grown over the years and is now suffering from some performance issues as well as random connection failures and errors such as corrupt memory. The database has only a small number of tables but they are accessed frequently every few seconds.

The work needed will be to initially connect to the database and make recommendations for optimizing the database and making any fixes if anything can be done immediately to improve performance.

I would like to get estimates for the amount of time needed to perform this project. Depending on rate, the winning bidder may also be invited back to perform additional database development based upon the outcome of the optimization project

Knowledge of mysql connector/odbc with vb.net preferrable but not required.

Description: I am currently the Account/Database manager at the Ferris State University Center for Certification, Training & Testing. Our main line of business is national certification testing and sales of textbooks, training manuals and software. We are currently using a FileMaker Pro database which has reached its limits. We would like to migrate to an SQL database with additional features built it. Our current database is used to hold test proctor records, tester records, order intake, account, report generating and shipping and receiving and we are looking to improve on these functions as well as add new functions and all data from our current database must be migrated to a new database. There will also be a website included in this project that will include e-commerce as well as on-line testing so please consider that when bidding. Throughout Mimo there are a wide range of voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations delivering a huge variety of projects, services and activities for young people. The Voluntary organizations plays an important part in supporting positive outcomes for young people throughout the county. In order to further improve sustainable relationships between the VCS and Mimo  County Council (MCC),

AIM
MIMO County aims to establish a single database of Voluntary and Community Sector  (VCS)  providers within Mimo County
which deliver structured support programmes to young people aged 14-19 years  up to 25 Years.

2. Purpose
The purpose of the project is to collate, in a single and easily accessible database, all of the VCS organisations, which operate within Mimo County (including national VCS organizations operating at a local level), who deliver structured support programmes to young people aged 14-19 years including  to 25 years . Structured support programmes can include organisations delivering:

• Work related learning and work experience activities
• Volunteering and community action opportunities
• Curriculum support programmes
• Accredited learning programmes/ courses
• Support for young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET
• Support for young people who have learning difficulties or disabilities
• Support for young offenders
• Support for young carers
• Support for young people in care and care leavers
• Support for young migrants/ asylum seekers
• Support for young people in poverty
• Support for young people from BME groups
• Support for pregnant young women and teenage parents
• Support for young people with drug and alcohol misuse problems
• Support for young people with mental health issues
• Support for young peoples emotional well being
This is not an exhaustive list.

3. Expected Outputs
The provider will be expected to produce a single Microsoft Access database which compiles a range of information about individual VCS organisations which can be easily identified, searched for, updated and manipulated for constructive purposes within Mimo County

As minimal standard information must include the following groups of information:
• Name of organisation
• Location
• Status
• Website
• Contact details
• Purpose
• Activities
• Target groups
• Age range of beneficiaries
• Beneficiary criteria
• Geographical coverage
• How opportunities within VCS groups are marketed
• What are the progression routes for young people
*Tenderers are encouraged to suggest further grouping criteria.
Furthermore the following criteria must be addressed:
• Each group must be accessible to search under common criteria (i.e. status,
purpose)
• Multiple searches (i.e. searching for a common target group and age range of beneficiaries)
• All information must be up to date upon completion of project

4. Expected Outcomes
Through this specification Mimo County  will have a comprehensible database of VCS providers supporting young people aged 14-19 years up to 25 Years  to:
• Support 14-19 (up to 25 LLDD) planning and commissioning processes
• Support integrated working
• Support ongoing engagement of wide range of VCS organisation in local delivery of services
5. Specification for Data Requirements
To support integrated working arrangements Mimo County  would like all data
gathered to be compatible with the Family Information Directory.
The Audit should be presented to specification requirements which would support this.
