Project
Category: Traditional Art (Illustration / Painting)
Subcategory: Cartooning/Comic Strip Illustration
Description: I am looking for an illustrator for a project where I need 4 pieces made from scratch. Each piece would be of a different theme (space/future, western, jungle, and fantasy) and there would be 2 versions of each piece due to there being either 1 or 2 characters in the foreground; so there's 8 illustrations total. I'm looking for someone that can create a "retro future" look; something simple that has nice a pop look without using too many colors, like "attractions" posters you would see in the 1950s

Subcategory: Cartooning/Comic Strip Illustration
Description: I'm looking for an artist to pencil and ink a 21 page comic book. The story is sci-fi with some superhero elements. It’s set in a dystopian future created by our antagonist and unintentionally made possible by our protagonist. At the heart of the potential ongoing series would be the main characters attempt to make up for his involvement, as well as his search for forgiveness. Another theme of the comic is that the far left is just as bad as the far right. And there is some awesome super power stuff!

Think Mad Max meets Y-The Last Man meets Big (yes the movie starring Tom Hanks)

My hopes are to have the comic picked up by an indie publisher. Once the first issue is finished I intend to do as much as I can to make that a reality.

What I'd like from you: Examples of past work (preferably panels from a past comic project), a rough estimate of how many hours a project this size would take you, and how long the turn around would be.

It'd be great to have someone along for the ride, not just a hired hand. Someone as eager as I am to break into the comic industry. While I am willing to put a really decent amount of money and time into the project it definitely wouldn't suck to have partnership in promotion and production (as well as ownership of course)

About me, I'm a 24 year old bar tender in San Francisco. I've played in punk and hardcore bands most of my life. I've been writing and drawing comics since I first saw Batman the Animated series.

Description: We are 'Revolutionary Concepts, leading developer and publisher of innovative utilities and entertainment applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
In the short time since our inception we have risen above the 90,000+ flashlight and fart apps, with over 2 million people having download our products.

In conjunction with our sister co 'Collect3' we have several MAJOR releases in the pipeline, which will strike a chord with illustrators and lovers of animation, including a recreation of "Cobra Command" a much loved arcade game from the 80's featuring full motion video in the style of the best japanimation.
(screens: www.revolutionaryconcepts.net)

In addition to this we are working on a VERY exciting original game to be launched later this year and urgently need the assistance of a comic /cartoon illustrator. While we can't go into too much detail on the nature of the game - suffice to say the game is a 3rd-person-view platformer where the visual style of the in game graphics is entirely cell shaded with a mix of 2D and 3D environments and dramatic use of camera angles.

For reference look at 'The Incredibles', the videogame 'Viewtiful Joe', the online comic 'Penny Arcade' or videos produced by the band 'Gorrillaz'.
Concept art attached for inspiration only. We are not tied to this in anyway, and if you have better ideas we'd LOVE to hear.

*Whilst we love and can appreciate edgey art of all kinds, I hasten to add the game will be targetted at kids 7 through to Adults.

The successful applicant will provide a digital comic which will form the basis for the intro to the game and cut-scenes that help the story flow from level to level. But in addition the style they create will become the definitive style for in-game characters.

Payment based on a minimum $250-$499 (US) with possible discussion of %points of sales revenue - depending on contribution.

We are burning the midnight oil to get this out and into the hands of gamers before xmas, and would love to hear from you asap!

Cheers!

Description: Hi All,

We're a screenwriting team based in LA, and have written for many of the major movie studios, including Warner Bros., Universal, 20th Century Fox, Miramax, and Dreamworks.  We've also worked with some of the biggest producers in town, including three Best Picture Oscar winners.

We're now looking to get into the comic book/graphic novel space, and are seeking a artist to bring our words to life.  We're very experienced storytellers, so you can definitely count on working with a high concept, compelling characters, and a sophisticated script.  We're also used to collaborating with other writers, producers, directors, and studio executives, so we're decisive and easy to work with.  And for the right artist, we can pay a page rate, but this is a self-funded labor of love, so your most valuable compensation will be getting your art viewed by top creative executives and some of the biggest producers in Hollywood--and that kind of entree is invaluable if it's something you're interested in.

We have several concepts that we're developing, but they're all in the action, adventure, or sci-fi space--so you should feel comfortable working in an edgy, cool, muscular style.  We require full-color illustrations (penciling, inking, coloring).  The length of the initial project is as yet undetermined, but it will likely be 22 pages or very possibly less, plus cover art.

Please respond with appropriate samples of sequential art, either as attachments or via your website, as well as your best bids for the above work.  We look forward to hearing from you and getting started.  Thanks!
